GOP going after Democrats as ‘Socialists.’ The new campaign against the NRSC and Crist.

Posted on 13 May 2009 by Jason

Via Memeorandum,

GOP to rebrand Dems as ‘socialists’ – The Politico

Hot Air – Just the sort of smart, sober gesture we need to convince Americans of the party’s new seriousness of purpose.

The Moderate Voice – Demonization politics seems to trump all (even political wisdom: so someone thinks this might attract younger voters, Latinos, African Americans, moderates and independents).

Newshoggers.com – The desperate Republican Party seems incapable of re branding themselves so they are going to re brand the Democratic Party.

DISSENTING JUSTICE – The move strikes me as a stupid and futile strategy. RNC Chair Michael Steele agrees.

Riehl World View – When I first heard about this rebranding the Dems as Socialists resolution, I emailed an RNC group and said it was the dumbest waste of their time I could imagine. I haven’t changed my mind.

Poli Blog — the GOP needs to figure out how to rebrand itself and forget trying to rebrand the opposition.

Not one dime to the NRSC –  Eric Erickson

Politics Daily – efforts to elect Republicans in 2010 are doing nothing to bring the sides together.

GOP 12 – ”Charlie Crist Picks A Fight Republicans Don’t Need”, is framed on logic hanging a Rubio candidacy.

RedState – Will we go with tanned, telegenic tax hikers with dubious personal issues, or young, telegenic conservative reformers who are not afraid to speak up for freedom?

Plum Line – Uh oh — the conservative backlash against the national GOP for its endorsement of moderate, stimulus-supporting Governor Charlie Crist in the GOP primary continues apace.
