In an economy that says, “If you ain’t unemployed just wait and you soon will be,” has become Obama’s big ugly tail. As the nation’s unemployed mount, President Obama’s personal numbers are sinking. Just go and ask the residents of Ohio and Virginia. The two states in which all but handed him the presidency. As a result, if he ran today he would most likely lose. For the first time in his brief, unaccomplished but meteoric political life he is actually facing some criticism. Though that may be a bit too strong of a word at this point. Let us settle for now with more people are wondering where is the change? The criticism will come later to be sure.
What does any of this have to do with Dick Cheney and the CIA? Absolutely nothing and that is the entire point.
Rarely does anyone go down in a fight without some struggle. The Democrats and their radical liberal operatives have been known to do far more than that. They will damage the country, her security, and her reputation to win a political battle or prove a point. Think of it like this. If an intruder were to come into your house, you would either call 911 for help, or grab your gun and start sending some lead downrange. In other words, you would protect yourself. Democrats on the other hand would set off timed explosives wiping out the entire block or apartment complex. They do not own little, tiny guns. It is that whole 2nd Amendment hang up. Besides, bullets are hit or miss usually and knives are far too personal. Explosive bombs are neater because the survival rate is almost always zero.
What better way to prove this than the Iraq war? Remember that? The Senate voted 77 - 23. The House voted 296 - 133. In both cases, it received majority Democrat support. Enthusiastically in some instances might we add. Later, when it got nasty and uncertainty hung in the air, where were the Democrats? Why they were headed for the nearest exit in pursuit of the closest camera to say that the war had been lost! And so it began. America under the leadership of President Bush committed the biggest foreign policy blunder in U.S. history (Laughable to history buffs). Our troops were murderers and were committing crimes against humanity. Therefore, the Democrats had a moral and legal obligation to oppose the war, the president, and bring our troops back in total defeat to send a reminder forever and prove beyond a doubt that theconservative President Bush made a horrible decision when he ”chose” to send the country to war.
Their hypocrisy and destructive tendencies really has no bounds when it comes to saving their own skin and destroying the opposition. They voted for war and supported it in the chamber of congress. When it seemed expedient to ditch the ride, they did without a moments hesitation. Even if it meant America’s defeat and the demoralization of the Armed Services. Hey, it was their moral obligation. Besides the real fight has always been on the home front. Remember the intruder scenario?
You will also have to remember that facts, statistics and empirical evidence from observation are hateful when used in debate against Democrats. To be fair though, liberals have really never operated in reality. To their credit they have steadfastly maintained focus on the utopia their ideas will bring and other “what dreams may come.” Facts don’t affect that place, therefore, have no bearing in any outcome. After all, this is the administration that basically called arithmetic “divisive” and a product of the mindless opposition. They labeled math as a mean-spirited conservative talking point used to distract the America people from recovery. Of course, this is because Republicans never want to debate the issues. But, this is the same party who’s accusations mean guilty. Their charges mean punishment. They don’t have to take their victim to court, nor do they want to. They send out their team of operatives to dig up dirt, while spokesman and higher profile politicians constantly repeat the charges to their friends in the media. Countless repeated front page headlines are ran and hours are devoted to cable programs on their selected target. Usually there isn’t much evidence and rarely is the other side discussed. Just repeat the charge. Throw it against the wall enough times and eventually it will stick. It is usually just a simple and harmless question. For example, “What did Cheney know?” The effective weeks’ bombardment usually sends the unfortunate recipient out of the bunker, hands in the air, begging for it to end. Shellshocked and bewildered, destined to a life of isolation and confusion. Of course that is all after the really hard part. You know, after his reputation is destroyed, a life of cameras and crapshoot journalist living in his neighborhood, after his family disowned him and his friends abandoned him. Then they really get to work.
When the verdict is out there is no appealing. It doesn’t matter that no law has been broken. So far, there has been no evidence that torture took place. Rather, the administration has been forthright in revealing the enhancement techniques and the immeasurable results yielded from the CIA interrogations. Furthermore, the Bush administration’s decisions to use them is backed by the Supreme Court. None of that matters. They want their guy. They want revenge for having to suffer eight years of conservative rule. And President Obama needs some cover so he can sort out this stimulus train wreck. In comes Eric Holder, a few sensational headlines with buzzwords like, “brutalized detainees, unapproved methods, ought to be prosecuted under U.S. and international law” and you got yourself a political scandal leading all the way up to President Bush himself. By now you should be well aware that it doesn’t matter what the team of lawyers and the Supreme Court says. Or the fact that the American people have shifted in support of Cheney and the Bush administration. It only matters,”What did Cheney know? Did President Bush torture?”
Now what were we talking about earlier? Oh yes, the unemployment rate and President Obama’s declining presidency.

Cheney was out of control. Nothing he did as VPOTUS should escape scrutiny. That said, I think this super secret program was not unlawful surveillance of Americans, but (planning) assassinations of Al-Qaeda targets
If this is what it turns out to be, I don’t think this story packs much of a wallop and Progressives do not serve our cause well in lending it legs. In the wake of 911, getting al Qaeda leaders dead or alive (later vacated by Bush!) was of paramount importance and absolute legitimacy. It was much, much, much more appropriate than invading and occupying Iraq. As far as who in Congress is entitled to information like this, that’s pretty much of a slippery slope. (Loose lips and loosely-bound minds.)
I agree with you. This is really all about noise. Cheney and Bush are crowd favorites and they will occupy a lot of headlines and avert attention. But it will be hard to do that when our budget deficit just reached 1.1 trillion. the first time in U.S. history.
Thanks for the comment.
1) I’m glad the CIA has been working on ways to hunt al qaeda terrorists.
2) This misguided anger against Cheney and the CIA is clearly just to cover Pelosi.
