Palin talks of higher calling; warns liberal press on ‘defamatory material’

Posted on 05 July 2009 by Jason

Gov. Palin is kicking up speculation on her future to a new level by revealing she may have a higher calling — politically speaking. Leaving many to believe that she is talking of leading or representing her conservatism on a national level. So here is looking towards 2012 already, or not. In the meantime, her attorney has sent a word of caution to the national media to layoff the personal attacks and unsupported and unsubstantiated claims of any legal wrong doing while governor of Alaska.

An early dose of some Sunday blogs

And a quick addition aside from the subject of entry.

Go to Right Klik and take part in some GOP voting. The early rounds are over where many respectable names have already been eliminated. The final results reveal a very likely but hypothetical matchup between Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin for the GOP nomination. So far, Romney is winning with over 50% of the vote.

Update
: Today, the LA Times released an article stating that the FBI has ensured that Palin is not the target of any federal investigations as alleged by Huffington Post blogger, Shannyn Moore.

Her lawyer is warning the press about defamitory remarks? Did she quit public office thinking she could then sue people for talking about her? What a Moron -I wouldn’t put it past her

  2. Mike July 5th, 2009 at 10:43 am

Actually, she could have sued for libel while serving as governor. Her holding office was not tantamount to her ability to seek legal action against alleged offenders. The only difference between Palin suing for libel, while in office, as opposed to a normal citizen is she has to show “actual malice.” Suffice to say, your assertion that her motivation for leaving office was to sue is quite baseless.

  3. Captain Kirk July 5th, 2009 at 11:21 am

All Palin has is personality and the ability to speak in front of an audience -I’m sorry but there is very little real talent for politics there -just look at how she gets out of sticky situations.

The Republican party used to be the “Party of the Rich and the Stupid” -and you can deny this till you are blue in the face -their numbers are dwindling big time.
Did some of “the Stupid” get smarter? I think maybe it’s a case of “the Stupid” faction being made up of the truly Stupid and “the Obtuse” -not really stupid, just preoccupied with sports, Chihuahuas, NASCAR , etc. -with every soldier killed in Iraq, some of his friends and relatives who belong to this group woke up and saw how cruely they have been duped and have left the party.
Wake Up -opposite what they tell you, Republican politicians for the most part:
    1. Do not care about abortion -if abortion is made illegal and one of their daughters gets pregnant by a black guy, they’ll just send her to Japan like they used to.

    2. Don’t care about soldiers -soldiers are nothing more than cannon fodder to them -see the last 8 years as proof.

3, Don’t care about “family values” -are you kidding? They only fess up to infidelity when they are caught.

Republican politicians make a living out of saying one thing and doing the opposite. They are shamelessly hypocritical. Wake up and pay attention.

  4. Jason July 5th, 2009 at 11:29 am

Kirk, would you give it a rest. You sound both like an amateur and an idiot.

  5. Captain Kirk July 5th, 2009 at 12:02 pm

    Mike and Jason:

You both sound profoundly depressed -I’m sorry for your loss.

  6. Mike July 5th, 2009 at 12:09 pm

First off let me start with your opening statement.

“All Palin has is personality and the ability to speak in front of an audience.”

That sounds like you just described the head of the present administration. The only problem is he needs a teleprompter to even achieve the latter.

But what I find truly interesting is that your preoccupation with the Republicans. We have vast resources here which actually can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the Left now has a super majority within Congress and a very liberal/progressive President at the helm.

Also considering the net worth of most Democrats and even the amount of corporate donations they were receiving during the campaign I find it further perplexing that you only have criticism for the GOP and not the Dems.

For a person whom seems concerned about the path of your country I suggest maybe you should wake up and direct your ire towards the one’s who are in power and spending us into oblivion. Cause it sure as hell ain’t the GOP.

  7. Mike July 5th, 2009 at 12:13 pm

“You both sound profoundly depressed -I’m sorry for your loss.”

This is the level of your dissent and discourse? I guess the old adage is true, “Facts are stupid things.”

  8. Jason July 5th, 2009 at 4:56 pm

    Kirk,

Just to deliver a bit of a bombshell, we are not Palinites.

  9. Captain Kirk July 5th, 2009 at 5:06 pm

“We have vast resources here which actually can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the Left now has a super majority within Congress and a very liberal/progressive President at the helm.” -No way! The vast resources in my head are me telling the same thing! except the “very liberal/progressive” part -that’s a real stretch -next you’ll be telling me Obama is more liberal than Kucinich.

  10. Mike July 5th, 2009 at 5:21 pm

“We have vast resources here which actually can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the Left now has a super majority within Congress and a very liberal/progressive President at the helm.” -No way!”

Well Capt. I am disappointed that you cannot detect sarcasm. And no it isn’t a stretch to say he is at least as liberal or progressive as Kucinich, just not as nutty.

Either way we have gone WAY off of the topic of this post and since you do not wish to add any sort of intelligent retort to my arguments I think this is probably better left alone.

Thank you for visiting and commenting.

  11. Captain Kirk July 5th, 2009 at 6:40 pm

    Mike

So since you’re in charge here, are you going to cut my mic?

    Jason
We? who’s “we”? You and Mike? Looks like no one else is here -what a dead website -If you read my first post you’ll find that I was not addressing you or Mike -and the post about you both being depressed WAS in response to your dreary defenses of Palin, but mostly because if you are Republicans it just stands to reason that you would be depressed.
It’s a terrible time to be a Republican -the moniker itself has become sonomous with wastful spending, torture, no-bid contracts, mercenaries, disappearing wheel-barrows of cash, infidelity, closet homosexuality, End-Times planning, anti-abortion yet pro-war, Secessionist Patriots, Pro-Life yet Pro-Death (penality), America first yet New Orleans last, Pro-military yet Anti-Soldier, Pro-Christian but Screw the Poor.
How do you guys do it? I guess it’s a juggling act -kind of like spouting “Family Values” at the same time as having a mistress in Argentina, or like being the chairman for the caucus on missing an exploited children while trying to have sex with underage male congressional interns, or playing footsie in the men’s room while blasting homosexuals publicly. You NEED a big tent to house all those multiple personalities.
I would be depressed too -your party stands for nothing anymore.

  12. Mike July 5th, 2009 at 7:51 pm

Hey genius, it’s spelled “synonymous” not “sonomous.” Lol. Nice try, Che but no cigar.

  13. Captain Kirk July 6th, 2009 at 4:29 am

A spelling error! Heaven forbid! At least in drawing attention to a technicality you admit the actual substance of my statement is not untrue.
Nit-picking and name-calling aside -what I wrote in my comment is my own opinion. I really don’t care if you believe whether my opinion is true or false -makes no difference to me -what should matter to you is that increasing amounts of people are begining to see what I see in the Republican party -cynical, systematic corruption and disgusting hypocrisy to EXTREME degrees -you can deny it all you want -denying it just makes it worse -show us some graphs and some poll numbers -they don’t work any more -they won’t change what we average every-day Americans have seen with our own eyes.

  14. Mike July 6th, 2009 at 9:11 am

Former Rep. Frank Ballance (D-N.C.) Plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and money laundering. Barred from practicing law.

Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) Received sweetheart loans from failed mortgage giant Country Wide for helping push through favorable legislation. Call it a little quid-quo-pro.

Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-Fla.) To much to list here. Most notable accomplishment, being the sixth federal judge to be impeached and removed from office in American history.

Secretary of Treasury, Timothy Geithner-Cheated on taxes from 2001-04 by not paying SSI or Medicaid.

Former Clinton National Security Adviser, Sandy Berger-Convicted for stealing classified documents.

Governor Bill Richardson (D-N.M.) Being investigated for giving a shady company a lucrative state deal after it donated tens of thousands of dollars to his political action committee.

    Former Illinois Governor, Rob Blagojevich-Lol!

Sen. Bob Menendez (D-New Jersey)-Currently under federal investigation by the U.S. attorney’s office in Newark, N.J.

Rep. Jane Harman (D-California)-Jane Harman is under investigation by the Justice Department for allegedly (with the help of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee) enlisting wealthy donors to lobby then-House Minority Leader (and current House Speaker) Nancy Pelosi.

Rep. Alan Mollohan (D-West Virginia)-Alan Mollohan is under investigation for using the “earmarking” process to direct contracts to non-profit organizations headed by both campaign contributors and business partners.

Former DC mayor and present Councilman Marion Barry-His infamous drug use, and now stalking. Gotta love this guy!

You said, “I really don’t care if you believe whether my opinion is true or false -makes no difference to me -what should matter to you is that increasing amounts of people are begining to see what I see in the Republican party -cynical, systematic corruption and disgusting hypocrisy to EXTREME degrees -you can deny it all you want -denying it just makes it worse -show us some graphs and some poll numbers -they don’t work any more -they won’t change what we average every-day Americans have seen with our own eyes.”

Do you realize that in all of your haranguing and tub-thumping you are making your cause seem even less palatable and credible? Your arguments sound insane, bizarre, and downright loony, not heterogeneous as you would like to think. If you aren’t going to get anything out of this then I highly suggest you move on or go to a place that is more suited for preening populism such as Red State. They will gladly indulge you in what you are looking for.

PS-Just for taking note of an earlier comment I am not in “charge” nor would I “shut off your mic.” You can eat up as much bandwidth as you like, but don’t expect anymore retorts. I have quite successfully exposed your hypocrisy and wrongheadedness with minimal effort.

  15. Captain Kirk July 8th, 2009 at 3:53 am

You have done nothing of the sort -your arrogant retorts have been nothing but examples of how Democrats have done similar things -go back and reread what you wrote -how does claiming others do it too in any way disprove the points I made or belittle my opinion?
“It’s not wrong that we did it -they did it too!”

Wow -that’s a lot of brazen “copy and paste”!
There is not one person reading this, including yourself who does not know I could do the same -but I won’t. Copying and pasting from another site is frowned upon when posting comments, being understood as an easy, cheep way to fill a screen with stuff that may look impressive to the poster, but that honestly nobody is going to continue reading once they see it’s been lifted from somewhere else.

I notice again that you still haven’t countered any of the points I’ve made -thats because they are all true and you know it. You insult me and my writing style, the misspelled word -but you can’t counter the substance of what I write.

Your party is in big trouble -go ahead and deny it -that always works when your car is running out of gas -just deny it’s happening and it will all go away.
    Don’t worry -I won’t bother you anymore.
