At first the speculation was that Gov. Palin would not be running for reelection. That would have been typical news for a potential candidate with eyes on the White House in 2012. But, to resign during office before her full term has been honored is a bit of a political bombshell. Consider this story developing (Go to Memeorandum for more discussion).
Hot Air | Is her career over?
Michelle Malkin | Feel free to speculate.
Pundit and Pundette | Maybe she’s going to get a national talk show? Work for Fox News? Join the Marines? I’m confused.
Swing State Project | What it means is that we’ll certainly have some damn good entertainment on the GOP presidential campaign trail - a welcome relief, given Mark Sanford’s implosion.
Macsmind | Let’s not forget that Obama didn’t finish his first term as Senator in order to run for President.

That’s right. Obama didn’t finish his term. And worse he spent an enormous amount of time campaigning while getting paid to do a job he was barely doing. I realize this is common practice (that I don’t agree with). Ms. Palin at least won’t have this cloud hanging over her head if she does decide to run in 2012.
