LA Times | Crucial vote to advance Senate healthcare bill seems assured

The last of three Democrats whose support was needed to allow debate on the bill after Thanksgiving says she’ll vote to move the measure along, but all warn they still have doubts.

Fred Thompson says Afghan war is lost

Posted on 20 November 2009 by Jason | Comments (0) | Tags: Afghanistan War, Fred Thompson, President Barack Obama

Ben Smith’s Blog — Former Sen. Fred Thompson today intensified his party’s criticism of President Obama’s long deliberation over policy in Afghanistan, announcing that Obama’s delay signals that “the war has been lost” and that nothing the president now does will “make any difference.”

Town Hall | This Is Getting Embarrassing…

Even the LA Times is asking, “How low will the new American president go for the world’s royalty?” — President Obama first denied he had bowed to the Saudi royalty, but his actions were crystal clear during his visit to Japan this week.

Geithner Won’t Rule Out New Taxes for Everyone Who Pays Taxes.

Posted on 02 August 2009 by Mike | Comments (0) | Tags: Middle Class, Tax Raises, Time Geithner

Ole Tim may be stealing the gaffe-o-minute award from Joey. In an interview with George Stephanopoulos, Stephanopoulos asked, “The Former Deputy Treasury Secretary, Roger Altman said, “It is no longer a matter of whether tax revenues must increase, but how.” “Is he right?” Geithner responds, “Uhh…George, it is absolutely right…”

These are the first official words that Obama’s promise to not raise taxes on the middle class may be wavering. It will definitely haunt the administration this week if not for longer.

CBO deals another knockout punch to ObamaCare.

The CBO released a letter to House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer stating, “”In CBO’s judgment, the probability is high that no savings would be realized … but there is also a chance that substantial savings might be realized. Looking beyond the 10-year budget window, CBO expects that this proposal would generate larger but still modest savings on the same probabilistic basis.”

Franking Commission censors Republican lawmakers

Posted on 24 July 2009 by Mike | Comments (0) |

Democrats are now censoring the use of the phrase “government run health care” in letters Republican lawmakers send to their constituents. Rep. John Carter (R-Texas) received a letter from the Franking Commission stating that if use of this wording is continued Republicans will have to pay for their own postage for contacting their constituents.

Potentially, 54 House Dems to Join Entire Republican Caucus Against Obamacare.

Posted on 22 July 2009 by Mike | Comments (0) |

The Weekly Standard is speculating that as many as 54 Democrats could potentially vote with Republicans against Obama’s health care plan. Some have expressed concerns about excluding abortion from the scope of any government-defined or subsidized health insurance plan to cost to tax increases.

So far only Hot Air is following this, if any more pick it up we will update.

That ‘Waterloo’ comparison made by the GOP may be starting to get to President Obama’s highly, highly, intelligent and wonderfully gifted head.

President Obama’s approval ratings are catching up with his policies

Posted on 20 July 2009 by Jason | Comments (0) | Tags: health care, Obama approval ratings, President Obama

Rasmussen showed the trend first and Gallup followed up. Now it appears that other polling agencies are seeing the very same trends. The WaPo released its polls showing President Obama slipping down, down, further to a mere mortal existence. (H/T to Memeorandum)

American Conservative Union selling off endorsement to FedEx

Posted on 17 July 2009 by Mike | Comments (2) | Tags: American Conservative Union, FedEx, UPS

Uh-oh, the American Conservative Union might be in hot water. According to the Politico it seems the Union was trying to perform a little “quid-pro-quo” with FedEx by offering them a deal that would entail the A.C.U. throwing their support behind FedEx in a legislative battle they are having with UPS.

Reason number 1,465 to run corrupt Beltway “Con’s” out of the GOP and politics all together.
